The causes of teratozoospermia
Teratozoospermia refers to the bad morphology of sperm in the ejaculated semen of the male.
These men have a lower seminal quality and, at times, suffer from infertility and difficulties in getting pregnant.
The causes of teratozoospermia are unknown in most cases. However, we are going to discuss the possible alterations that these abnormal sperm cause in the semen.

Defects in spermatogenesis
Most experts agree that morphological alterations of sperm occur during the last phase of their formation.
Spermatogenesis is the process by which sperm are formed in the testes, which lasts approximately 3 months.
Specifically, spermiogenesis is the last phase of spermatogenesis, in which the sperm, which already have their genetic content formed, undergo a maturation process and acquire their characteristic morphology.
Once the sperm have their oval head and tail formed, they are released into the seminiferous tubules to continue on their way.
Therefore, it is not surprising that any defect or alteration in spermiogenesis leads to sperm with abnormalities in its head, neck or tail.
