What is oligospermia?

Oligozoospermia, also called oligospermia, is a cause of male infertility by sperm factor . Specifically, it affects the amount of sperm in the ejaculate, which are found in smaller numbers compared to the ejaculate of a fertile male.

The degree of oligospermia can be mild, moderate or severe, depending on the number of sperm present in the ejaculate.

It is considered that a semen is of poor quality if it has low sperm concentration , other alterations such as poor sperm mobility or defects in shape. These diseases are known as astenozoospermia and teratozoospermia respectively.
