An ovary of polycystic aspect is characterized by the presence of 8 or more follicles in basal conditions, that is, in period of menstruation.
The polycystic ovary is characterized by many folliclesThe size of these follicles usually oscillate between 2 and 9 mm and are in a state of rest, that is, they are not growing. This causes the so-called cysts that characterize this condition to atrophy and form.
