What are the Evopad patches for?

The purpose of this drug is to provide estrogens exogenously. Here are the two situations in which estrogen patches can be applied:

Hormone substitution therapy

With the arrival of menopause, the production and release of estrogen becomes irregular until finally it finally disappears. This occurs as a result of the exhaustion of the ovarian reserve, because by decreasing the number of follicles, the production of estradiol also decreases.

Precisely the decrease in estrogen levels is the main cause of the symptoms of menopause. Some of them are:

  • Hot flushes
  • Insomnia
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Risk of osteoporosis
  • Increased tendency to cardiovascular diseases
  • Changes in mood
  • Joint pain

To try to attenuate many of the aforementioned symptoms, estrogen substitution treatment is used in menopause.

This medication can also be used in women who suffer from early menopause or surgical menopause, that is, women whose ovaries have been removed and therefore do not produce estrogen.
