Male fertility tests

The first test performed on man is a semengram. Here, the fertility status of the male is evaluated by analyzing the quantity and quality of his sperm.

To do this, you must go to the fertility center and collect by masturbation a sample of semen that will be analyzed in the laboratory.

If there were a total absence of sperm, the semen should be repeated and the cause could be the sperm production by the testicle or if it could be due to an obstruction that does not allow the semen to escape.

In the first case, a testicular biopsy should be done to determine if there really is an absence of sperm in the testicles.

In the case that the quantity and / or sperm quality is low, the ideal option is in vitro fertilization, either by conventional IVF or ICSI. However, if the quantity and the seminal quality are good, artificial insemination can be chosen.
