What happens the third week of pregnancy?
At the end of the second week or beginning of the third week of pregnancy, ovulation takes place. These are the fertile days of the woman and, therefore, the couple must have unprotected sex for the conception to occur.
After intercourse, the ejaculated sperm begin their journey through the female reproductive tract: they ascend through the cervix, pass through the uterus and reach the fallopian tubes. This is where the encounter with the ovum and fertilization by a single sperm takes place.
