The ministry denies the exclusion of assisted reproduction of public health
Last Monday, February 6, we published in our magazine the article "Health will not include assisted reproduction" where we explained that the Minister of Health, Ana Mato had declared that infertility is not a disease and that for this reason and lack of budget , social security would not take care of assisted reproduction.
This news caused a strong impact among our followers, who were outraged at such measures. Even several groups, such as the association of women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) or women with endometriosis have mobilized with signatures to show their discontent with the cuts.
Yesterday, José Manuel Martínez Ruiz, communication director of the Ministry of Health contacted reproduccionasistida.org and categorically denied this information. From the Ministry they explained to us exclusively, that there is no thought of making cuts in assisted reproduction, they have not yet raised anything about it. According to Mr. José Manuel, these statements were made in the private sphere and were taken out of context by a journalist.
From the redacionasistida.org writing we want to emphasize that we do not intend to create controversy or position politically, we simply seek to inform, making us echo of the most interesting news that is published on assisted reproduction. We will follow this matter very closely to keep you fully informed.
