Pregnancy is a new physiological state in women that does not have to cause any problems for their health and the future baby that is waiting. However, it is very important to monitor the entire pregnancy to detect possible alterations and prevent them in time.

Since the medical control of pregnancy has become widespread and hospital birth has been established, perinatal mortality has declined markedly in industrialized societies, being much lower than the maternal-fetal mortality of underdeveloped or developing countries.
