Why is there no menstruation during pregnancy?
Menstruation is the peeling of the endometrium, that is, the process by which the endometrium detaches from the uterine walls as a consequence of the lack of fertilization of the ovule.
The brain sends hormonal signals to the ovary so that, in the event of fertilization and subsequent implantation of the embryo, the uterine endometrium does not detach and develop properly to house, nourish and protect the baby. For this same reason, during pregnancy there is no desquamation of the endometrium, that is, there is no menstruation.
If there were normal menstrual periods, it would mean that the woman is discarding the uterine membrane in charge of feeding the baby and therefore the baby could not develop, so she would end up losing the pregnancy.
