What can the pregnant woman notice?
In the eighth month of pregnancy, it is possible that, from time to time, the belly hardens as a result of the so-called Braxton-Hicks contractions, which is a sign that the uterus is preparing for childbirth.
While the contractions are not strong and do not occur more frequently than 5 per hour, there is no risk of premature delivery. The volume of the belly is difficult to move and can make women get tired more when walking, in the practice of any routine activity or even talking. Back and leg pain may be more intense as of this month.
The weight gain in women is more evident from now on, since together they can be carrying more than 8 kg of extra weight between:
- Fetus
- Placenta
- Uterus
- Amniotic fluid
- Weight of breast growth
In case the baby is already placed face down for the moment of delivery, it is normal for the pregnant woman to notice that the hips and pelvis are widening to prepare the birth. This makes walking a bit uncomfortable.
The fetus is placed face down from the 8th month of pregnancyThe uterus reaches its maximum degree of expansion and may even reach very close to the sternum, which causes the stomach to be much more compressed. Because of this, acidity or burning can be more noticeable.
On the other hand, the bladder and the intestines also suffer the lack of space caused by the growth of the baby. The frequency of urination and constipation are exacerbated.
Fortunately, not all the symptoms that occur in this period are annoying. For example: it is very normal for the woman to notice the most abundant and voluminous hair due to the hormonal change.
