The generalized ranges range from 500 ? that can cost a conjugal artificial insemination (IAC) to 1700 ? if the donation of semen is used.
Price artificial conjugal and donor inseminationThe artificial insemination of donor (IAD) is more expensive due mainly to the tests that must be done to the donor as well as the financial compensation that he receives for the inconvenience, risks and losses that the donation has supposed.
It is also important to determine which tests, treatments and other factors are included in the price of the technique and which ones must be paid separately. Generally, the initial budget for artificial insemination includes:
- Control of ovarian stimulation

Difference between IVF and artificial insemination
One aspect that is not usually included in practically any assisted reproduction clinic is the cost of the medication that the patient must take for ovarian stimulation.
In artificial insemination, fertilization takes place in the woman's body. Therefore, to avoid multiple pregnancy, only the maturation of one or at most two ovules is sought.
In order to stimulate the ovary and control ovulation but without increasing the risk of multiple gestation, low doses of hormonal medication are administered. This implies a lower cost compared to IVF.
Simple and painless artificial inseminationThe price of medicines is usually around 300 euros, although it may be higher or lower depending on the exact dose, the patient's response, the administration protocol and the prescribed commercial brand.
Other aspects for which the price of AI is lower than IVF is the need for an operating room and anesthesia.
Artificial insemination does not hurt so no anesthesia is required. Neither need special instrumentation nor complex techniques so it is usually done in the gynecological consultation itself.
Finally, IVF requires embryo culture, which greatly increases the cost of treatment.
