Irregular menstruation

When the menstruation is irregular, the bleeding may last longer, but it is important to clarify that irregular menstruations are only a symptom, should never be taken as a disease.

Irregular cycles

Why is it produced?

There may be both anomalies in the menstrual cycle and absence of menstruation (amenorrhea), which in turn may be primary (never to have been menstrual) or secondary (menstruation of interrupts).

The primary can be due to a delay of puberty, absence of ovaries, lack of perforation of the hymen or hormonal disorders. High school can already be caused by an infection at the genital level, ovarian cancer, early menopause or a disorder in the pituitary gland.

Treatments for irregular menstruation

There are several treatments for irregular menstruation, in the first place a gynecological examination and blood test will always be performed.

Depending on the characteristics of the patient, a Pap smear can be ordered, or a sample can also be removed from the cervical mucus to perform a colposcopy, which is the vision of the vagina and the cervix through a special optical device.

The treatment will always depend on the cause that causes the disorder, for example if it is a defective ovulation a hormonal procedure will be performed.

The evolution of a menstruation considered irregular will always be variable depending on the cause of the disorder.

Treatment for irregular menstruation

Usually this type of rule is not dangerous, although it should be treated to rule out the possibility of a tumor or other serious illness, early consultation with the gynecologist always offers greater possibilities of treatment and cure.

Some symptoms that will give the alert for immediate consultation are:

  • Absence of menstruation.
  • Early menstruation
  • Menstruation very abundant or too scarce.
