Invo: Assisted reproduction method more economical?
INVO is an assisted reproduction treatment that emerged some years ago as an alternative to traditional in vitro fertilization.
Below you have an index with all the points that we will discuss in this article.

INVO: more economical assisted reproduction method?Shortly after its release, it generated great expectation and numerous media focused its attention on this curious instrument because it significantly reduced costs and had rates of results similar to IVF.
INVO process
Through the INVO technique, the fertilization of the ovules by sperm occurs inside the woman's body, so the process is not in vitro, but rather resembles a natural fertilization.
The woman is stimulated gently, so that no more than 10 oocytes are generated, they are extracted following the same protocol as in a traditional in vitro fertilization.
Semen is treated in the same way, sperm training occurs to obtain only sperm with good mobility.
The semen and the ovules are incorporated together with the culture medium in the INVOcell device, the protective shell is incorporated and it is introduced inside the uterus of the woman, where it will remain for three days.
After this period, the device is removed, the embryos are observed in the microscope and the best quality are transferred to the patient.

Advantages and disadvantages of INVOcell
This process avoids the incubation of embryos in the laboratory, in a way that would reduce the presence of incubators and expensive laboratory material, thus reducing the price of fertility treatment.
The reduction of costs is the main reason for which its manufacture began, although the designers of the method point out many other advantages such as:
- More natural incubation
- Reduces the risk of complications in the laboratory
- The couple is more involved
- Efficiency similar to IVF techniques
The main disadvantage of this method is that the device must be three days inside the woman with the discomfort that this may cause and also must go to the assisted reproduction center.
Actually, there has not been any additional benefit to the use of this technique, for this reason it has not been implemented in the routine clinic. Although in some centers it is still offered, INVO did not imply any revolution in the techniques of assisted reproduction as announced.
