Hmg medicine for artificial insemination: administration and price

The hMG is a human gonadotropin obtained from the purification of the urine of women in the menopause stage. Its acronym corresponds to the qualifier in English human menopausal gonadotropin. It is available as an injectable drug on the market with the name HMG lepori, which is prescribed during controlled ovarian stimulation in artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments, either conventional IVF or ICSI.

The effect of this medication on women is the stimulation of ovarian function. More specifically acts producing a greater recruitment of follicles, as well as the development of these. On the contrary, in man it favors the production of spermatozoa (spermatogenesis).

This drug contains two gonadotrophins: follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). Its pharmacological action is equivalent to the action of FSH released by the pituitary gland.
